This gel moisturizer is a revamped version of our best-selling MadeCera cream. It is an innovative patented moisturizing ingredient that can deliver hydration to the innermost levels of the skin, up to 50 microns deep. Our skin has two layers: an outer layer (epidermis) that protects us from dust and wind, and an inner layer (dermis) where all our blood vessels, lymph and sweat glands are located. The epidermis is made up of cells called keratinocytes with a lipid bilayer (external lipids) as a protective barrier against dehydration and external elements such as hot climates, cold climates or high pollution environments. When the lipid layer is weakened due to factors such as sun exposure, alcohol intake and age, the moisturizing capacity decreases significantly. Aqua Barrier Gel was discovered by SKINRx Lab through its research on ceramides that help build better barriers around pores and make skin look firm.
